A month and a half between is just way to long, but it wasn't intended. Some prose wasn't ready yet, so here we are...

Have you ever been walking through the woods enjoying life and then you step in a bear trap? Probably not likely, but I bet you could imagine it. Even if you can't imagine the pain you've probably experienced what it feels like to be enjoying what God has to offer and then all of a sudden you're stuck....

...like a bug caught in a spider's web.

However, what does the devil loudly say? "You were the one to put your foot in the trap you were the one that flew into the web. Its your fault! Just look at what you did!" ... and you believe him, because you are stuck. Isolated. Yet...

A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; He rages against all wise judgment. - Proverbs 18:1

The trap was set weeks, months, years ago even. First you were following the Golden Rule, treating everyone as you want to be treated. Yet something happened, life happened, it isn't always a slow motion run through meadows. The devil attacks and changes one word. Now you are treating everyone as you seem to be treated.

Losing friends you need and gaining friends you need to lose and sooner or later your stuck in bad habits, bad thoughts, bad situations wondering how in the world did I get here? How did this happen? Why the Lord forsaken me?

He hasn't.

Even though you might be stuck God has been whispering in your ear. The whole time, 'just look around.' The devil wants you to look at the trap, but God says look around and then you do.

First, you notice the spider is gone and the web is gone except a sliver that you hold on too. No devil. No trap. The devil doesn't keep his thumb on you he doesn't have that kind of power.. but you do. He uses you to hold you in contempt.

Once you stop being your own worse obstacle, stop worrying about your current situation and just listen to what God has to say...

"For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal." - 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
You might be stuck now, but it is minor compared to God. It always is. He will get you through and the pain you feel now will be incomparable to the good things He has planned for you.

  1. I read this when you posted it and never commented. This is wonderful. This is where I was over a year ago. Stuck. I'm so glad to honestly say I'm not there anymore but the lessons I learned from it are INCREDIBLE. Thank you for this!
